June 9 - Mayor Statement - George Floyd Vigil

MAYOR’S STATEMENT

The City of Las Vegas values that our residents and visitors come from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it’s a good thing to do, but because it makes our community better.

As Mayor of Las Vegas, I believe every member of humanity has an important contribution to make to the whole, and that we as the City of Las Vegas must strive to be welcoming and inclusive of each individual. I will be attending the prayer vigil for George Floyd on Tuesday, June 9th at 3pm at the Plaza Park in Las Vegas.

Due to recent national events of great concern, I have instructed the City  Manager to work with the Las Vegas Police Department on community policing issues. During these challenging times, we need each other more than ever.

Please join me on Friday, June 19th at 5pm at Plaza Park in Las Vegas for the Juneteenth Outdoor Racial Equity Forum.
