Yesterday’s flood event was a complication of the after effects of the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire. Due to increased turbidity in the Gallinas River and Bradner Dam of ash, silt and fire debris, the water treatment plant is currently experiencing a delay of processing water for consumption. We are asking the residents of the City of Las Vegas and surrounding areas who utilize city water to implement water restrictions immediately to ESSENTIAL NEEDS ONLY to prevent further restrictions. Cooperation of our residents is of the most utmost importance.

As per City Ordinance 440-26 Water Conservation and per City Manager, the City of Las Vegas will be entering into Stage IV Water Restrictions. All non-essential businesses will be closing until further notice. Essential services which will remain open are hospitals, medical services, grocery stores, gas stations, day care services, feed stores, hardware stores and government services.

Future water distribution events will be held in the coming days and will be announced in advance. The City of Las Vegas is diligently working with local, state and federal agencies to acquire all necessary resources. We are asking the general public to please follow all orders and guidance from law enforcement, public safety personnel and city officials as we navigate through this challenging time.
