4/25/2025 12:00 p.m.: Las Vegas Weekend Weather Alert: Rain, Winds & Fire Danger Ahead




The National Weather Service is forecasting changing weather conditions for Las Vegas heading into the weekend.


  • Friday (Today): Isolated rain showers are expected to begin after 2:00 p.m., with coverage increasing through the evening hours.

  • Saturday: Rain chances are more likely with a 50% chance of rain, particularly during the morning and early afternoon. Residents should be prepared for rapidly shifting conditions. Outdoor events may be impacted by intermittent showers.

  • Sunday: A High Wind and Fire Weather Watch has been issued. Sustained southwest winds of 25–35 mph are forecast, with gusts potentially reaching 50 mph or higher. Relative humidity levels are expected to drop into the single digits, creating critical wildfire conditions.


Important Safety Reminders:

  • No open burning is permitted within the City of Las Vegas under any circumstances.

  • Avoid outdoor activities that could generate sparks, including welding or using machinery on dry grass.

  • Secure all loose outdoor items to prevent damage or flying debris.

  • If traveling, be aware that high-profile vehicles may be especially affected by crosswinds on highways, particularly along I-25.
