The U.S. National Weather Service has forecasted a substantial increase in storm activity starting tomorrow, continuing throughout the rest of the week and coming weekend. This heightened storm activity raises concerns about an increased risk of flash flooding in various areas.
Residents who live within or downstream of the burn scar of the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire are being urged to take special precaution. When storms increase in frequency and intensity, there is a higher likelihood of heavy rainfall over short periods of time. This can be particularly hazardous in areas where the natural terrain has been altered by wildfires, such as burn scars.
Please continue to monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
