PNM (Public Service Company of New Mexico) is notifying customers about the potential for a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) this Friday, March 14, due to extreme weather conditions expected to affect the area. High winds are forecasted to impact the power grid, creating a risk of wildfires, downed power lines and other safety concerns.
In order to protect the safety of the community, PNM may initiate power shutoffs in certain areas that are at high risk. PNM has not made the decision to implement a PSPS at this time and will continue to monitor changing weather conditions.
We strongly encourage you to prepare in advance by:
Charging all necessary electronic devices.
Ensuring you have flashlights, batteries, and other emergency supplies available.
Securing backup power sources, if necessary.
Monitoring weather alerts and PNM notifications for updates on potential outages.
PNM will provide ongoing updates throughout the event and is working diligently to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
For more information and updates, please visit the PNM website at www.pnm.com or follow PNM on social media. For the additional updates, follow the City of Las Vegas, New Mexico website at www.lasvegasnm.gov and the Las Vegas City Government Facebook page.
